If you have a problem with any component of your body- muscle, nerve, bone, tendon, ligament or are recovering post surgery or joint replacement or are pregnant including any postpartum concerns- then a physiotherapist is who you need to see. Physiotherapists are the leading experts in assessing and treating musculoskeletal injury including strains, sprains, overuse tendinitis, pain, fracture rehab, stiffness, inflammation and dysfunction in your body.

Our aim is to increase your health and fitness, aid in injury recovery and provide the most effective hands on physiotherapeutic experience. Assessment and treatment is individually devised depending on your condition and goals.

We provide effective solutions for all joint and postural problems, headache management, use of our extensive knowledge to tailor individual Clinical Conditioning including Pilates programming for injury management and pregnancy. Advice and education is an integral component of your recovery, your overall health, and wellness.

Sp2 Kinetics™ specialises in manual physiotherapy for all of your body's aches and pains, one-to-one studio Pilates, small group reformer and mat instruction.

Depending on the results of your assessment and the individual requirements of your condition or injury, a combination of the following techniques are used as effective solutions for your pain and physical limitations:

Sp2 Kinetics™ aims to provide a thorough assessment, accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment and advice to individuals who may be experiencing pain, injury, limited function or seek to improve their overall posture, health and performance

What to expect:

 

Initial assessment will be 60 minutes

Follow-up appointments will be 30-45 minutes

Treatment times vary according to the requirements of your specific injury and condition

Please bring any relevant images including X-rays, CTScans, Ultrasounds, MRI and communications from your doctor- they are valuable to your diagnosis and treatment planning

When you book, check whether you should bring along any additional items including footwear, sport-specific equipment and bracing that you may currently use. This may be helpful in making a thorough assessment of any movement-related issues and they impact and assist your recovery.

You do not require a doctor's referral for physiotherapy unless your injury is work related; the result of a motor vehicle accident; a claim made with Veteran's Affairs; or if you qualify for the Enhanced Primary Care Program.

 

Manual therapy

Hands on treatment techniques including joint, soft tissue massage and neural mobilizations, facilitated stretching and muscle energy to address muscle imbalance, facilitate alignment, restore motion and stimulate healing

Electrotherapy & Ultrasound

Electric current &/or sound waves are used to stimulate injured tissue to reduce muscle spasm, inflammation and decrease pain to facilitate healing

Education

It is the philosophy at Sp2 Kinetics™ to educate the client to ensure understanding of the injury, the plan of care, and the responsibility that the client should take to assist with their own improvement during the healing process

Massage

Manipulation of muscle and soft tissue to enhance function, accelerate healing, promote circulation and reduce pain

Dry needling

Therapeutic acupuncture needles are used to reduce pain, stimulate healing and restore function

Modalities

Heat, ice and topicals are commonly applied to control inflammation and reduce pain

Exercise Rehabilitation

Specific rehabilitation exercise programming using a variety of equipment & techniques following sport injury, surgical procedure involving your spine, shoulder, knee, ankle and joint replacement.

Taping and postural strapping

Therapeutic tape to reduce pain and to provide additional support to stimulate healing

Spinal decompression

Therapeutic elongation or traction of your spine to reduce compression on your discs and vertebrae

Therapeutic Pilates

Our Clinical Conditioning & Pilates Is an excellent approach to fitness if you are recovering from injury, managing ongoing back or neck pain, are pregnant or post-birth, require an intermediary workout to further aid your rehabilitation, looking to regain fitness or learn a new approach to exercise to add diversity to your independent exercise with core conditioning and control.
